State of Mind LLC, opened in 2023 with one clear vision in mind. "To inspire a better today, tomorrow and every day life."

With medical and recreational cannabis popping up all across the United States these days, millions of Americans are now enjoying the benefits from the cannabis plant, better known as marijuana. There's a host of cannabis products these days that help treat nausea, pain, anxiety, as well as many other health conditions. Is it a science? or is it a state of mind? Now that the nation is warming up to the idea of the many benefits cannabis can provide. What can we learn today and how can we apply that towards a better tomorrow?

Now, that's the aged old question... What are the actual benefits of cannabis and who actually knows the answer to this question? Can a scientist or a doctor answer this? I assure you, I'm neither. But, I can share facts and experience's of the benefits from my point of view. Who am I? I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (ALK Negative) in December, 2021 and blessed to call myself a cancer survivor today.

What are my qualifications on this topic? 23 rounds of chemo, multiple biopsies, countless pet scans, surgeries, multiple weeks in the hospital, stem cell extraction, stem cell transplant, doctors appointment after doctors appointment. I could go on and on. I'm definitely qualified to share with you the benefits that cannabis gave back to my life.

The first thing cancer took from me was my "state of mind", cannabis gave that back. Then came the anxiety, cannabis eased my mind. Cannabis also relaxed my body when approaching upcoming procedures. It helped with pain. It helped me sleep. It helped me eat. Did I mention it helped with my nausea after chemo treatments. Sometimes, when I would reach that euphoric 420 State of Mind, I actually didn't feel sick and actually felt like I was once again normal. If you ask me, does cannabis have benefits? I could give you an endless list of how a plant changed my life for the better.

Is it a Science, or is it a State of Mind?

Our Vision

Breaking down the science of the cannabis plant

Cannabis refers to a group of three plants with psychoactive properties, known as Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis. Cannabis is made up of more than 120 components, which are known as cannabinoids. Experts still aren’t sure what each cannabinoid does, but they do have a pretty good understanding of two of them, known as cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). In today's world of technology, information and science surrounding the cannabis plant, it's hard to know exactly where to start when educating yourself about all the benefits the cannabis plant can provide.

The cannabis plant is like every other plant. It's growth cycle starts from a seed, grows and matures over time, and ultimately buds into flowers. The flowers are the most desirable part of the growth process and it's no different for the cannabis plant. Once a cannabis plant produces flowers, those flowers produce resin glands that contain cannabinoids and terpenes. These flowers are what is being harvested and ultimately used or processed into different medicine and other consumable products.

The cannabis plant has been known by many names over the decades, such as, marijuana, pot, weed, grass and so on. Trust me, today's cannabis plants are not the same as your mom and dads old weed stash back in the day. Now a days you can smoke it, vape it, dab it, eat it and even drink it. Don't get me wrong, while users enjoy cannabis for pleasure or recreational purposes, scientists and doctors are now learning of the many benefits by prescribing it for specific medical conditions and symptoms. Many scientists and health bodies — including the American Cancer Society (ACS) — support the need for further scientific research on the use of cannabis and cannabinoids to treat medical conditions.
